There are a couple of reasons why you may not be able to view your SmartConnect sensor readings while driving.
Bluetooth signals from BMPRO products to our mobile apps are designed for monitoring and operation around your caravan when stationary. We must keep in mind to not operate a mobile device while operating a vehicle.
Obstacles between the transmitter and the receiver can deteriorate the signal. This may heavily affect the signal range.
Obstacles may include things such as the node's location, walls, cupboards, and the tow vehicle. Large metal objects such as toolboxes can also disrupt a Bluetooth signal.
Nodes are designed to transmit a Bluetooth signal up to 25 feet open line of sight.
If it is not possible to move the system node closer to the tow vehicle, you may want to look at adding BMPRO's ProSmart:
By mounting the SmartLink node of the ProSmart system close to or inside the tow vehicle, you may have the luxury of seeing your SmartPressure, SmartSense and SmartTemp readings in both your tow vehicle and your caravan, depending on where the ProSmart has been mounted. You will not need to worry about disconnecting your SmartConnect sensors from your existing node, as they can be connected to multiple nodes simultaneously.
Monitoring from the tow vehicle is made easy with ProSmart. With ProSmart, you can monitor the temperature of your rear canopy, see the fridge and tyres from the tow vehicle while seeing the outback and ensuring your beers are icy cold when you get to your destination.
Note: BMPRO does not endorse the use of mobile devices while operating any vehicles.
