If a JAYCOMMAND firmware update is available and you want to force the Node to update, follow the below steps:
- Press the Home button to return to the home screen.
- Press the Home button again to view all active apps.
- Swipe up on the JAYCOMMAND app to close it, so that it is not running in the background.
- Remove shore power from your RV.
- Disconnect the battery.
NOTE: Flipping the battery disconnect switch will not kill power to the JAYCOMMAND system! You must physically disconnect the battery.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery.
- Plug the shore power cord back in to your RV.
- Open the JAYCOMMAND app.
If a firmware update is available the JAYCOMMAND app will update the Node's firmware.
If you are using the JAYCOMMAND app on your smartphone, make sure you stay close to your RV.

the update for the Jaycommand is a joke. I've been trying for 2 days. unhooked all the batteries, solar panels, unhooked shore power. last time I tried it was updating for over 2 hours. Come on it doesn't take that long to install windows 10 and 11
Same problem here. FW simply does not update.
This worked. We unplugged shore power, disconnected the battery and when reconnected the firmware updated. It took a lot of research and false starts before discovering this fix.
