Before investigating, empty, wash and refill your tanks. A dirty sensor can cause inaccurate readings.
To rule out the JAYCOMMAND system, disconnect the tank sensor. If the JAYCOMMAND system still displays a reading with the tank sensors disconnected, the Node will need to be replaced. If the reading disappears when the tank sensors are disconnected, the fault is with the sensor or wiring.
For fresh, grey and black tanks, the Node will look for the following:
- If the tank is empty, the resistance between the tank wire and ground should be greater than 600K ohms.
- If the tank is 1/3 full, the reading will be 180K to 300K ohms.
- If the tank is 2/3 full, the reading will be 65K-150K ohms
- If the tank is full, the reading will be less than 50K ohms.
The JAYCOMMAND system will only reflect the value that is supplied to it from this resistance reading.
