This is normal. Awnings are locked out when ignition is active to prevent operation during vehicle movement.
For increased safety of motor operation, three conditions must be met for a slide to operate:
- The park brake must be detected.
- Ignition must be ON.
- The detected ignition voltage must be above 13.4V.
In certain conditions, the battery/alternator may not be fully charging and reaching the 13.4 Volts threshold. To increase alternator output, you can turn on vehicle lights/brights.
If turning on the brights does not release the slide, test the wiring to the RVMaster node:
- Remove the connector and test directly on the wiring.
- Test at the XB4 connector pin 10 for ignition voltage.
- If the voltage condition is met, check that the park brake wire is putting a ground signal on the park brake input pin.
For more information, refer to the RVMaster Node wiring diagram.
